Holiday Trip and More.....

(Moonshadow spotted at South Molton).

We,(no correction), the grandchildren, decided that this year they wanted to spend the holiday at the caravan, they did not want to travel for ages to reach a destination. So decision made, car packed it was "off we go" to the caravan site in South Molton (a beautiful part of North Devon, on the edge of Exmoor).

To say that the weather was inclement would be an understatement.

Pelhams Mill

The mill dates from 1034 and has been in the care of its present owners for over 30 years. They have added a tearoom and shop, plus the outbuildings have been converted into workshops and classrooms and there are regular functions and classes held throughout the year.

Having explored the mill and chatted to the owner for a while we piled back into Moonshadow and headed off through the lanes of Somerset towards our next destination

Wimbleball Lake

The beautiful Wimbleball Lake is a calm, peaceful location on the edge of Exmoor.

Since the reservoir's creation, in the mid 1970s, the 374 acres of water have been a magnet for watersports lovers. 5 miles from the town of Bampton it forms a major part of the Wimbleball Country Park, recently been designated as an observation areas for the night sky, because of its lack of light pollution.

The rest of the holiday featured a visit to Quince Honey Farm in South Molton. During the half day we spent there we all learned much about the production of honey and the lives of bees.

The children left the site on Saturday and Alison and I spent the afternoon in Tiverton shopping. Then, before heading home after lunch on Sunday we had the fun task of striking the awning and packing everything away ready for the next trip which is scheduled for the last week in September

Moonshadow Studios takes shape

The good news on the Ilfracombe studio front is that Ben, our engineer, has completed the upgrade of the computer system and installed all the necessary software to enable us to begin broadcasting 24hrs a day, 7 days a week. When he delivered the computer the software provider had not forwarded the link that we have to display on the home page, but that has now arrived and is encoded into the site.

The next phase of the project is to upload all the CauldronFM music onto the hard discs and we will then be ready to begin pre-transmission trials.

We are hoping to start this new chapter in the life story of CauldronFM with our Mabon broadcast

We will not be closing our podcast service down and the plan is that every show will be transferred to the podomatic site in order that our listeners will be able to go back and hear the shows again as and when they wish

Until the next time we speak the team at Moonshadow Media would all like to wish you Love, Light and Blessed Be

North Devon Sport and Classic Cars

North Devon Sports and Classic Car Club hit Ilfracombe

A report by The Merlin

Sunday 5th August started off with mixed weather but the die hard members of the North Devon Sport and Classic Car Club are made of strong stuff and they were determined to show their cars off no matter what the weather threw at them.

When I arrived on the scene only a handful of cars had taken their places at the foot of Ilfracombe's Capstone Hill, but even these were of an extremely high standard. I was very impressed with the pairing of a Triumph Herald Estate Car and a small white caravan, a combination that looked absolutely stunning.

Other fine examples on site were a brace of Triumph Stags, a Ford Cortina Mk 1 Dragster Estate car, a couple of canary yellow "Funny Cars" and a superb example of an early 1960s Vauxhall Velox

Sadly, owing to other commitments I did not get to see many more arrivals so I am looking forward to the next chance I will get to see these marvellous machines in Barnstaple Pannier Market in November.

There is a whole host of other people who contribute to the daily operation of Moonshadow Media Productions and without their valuable input the whole venture would struggle to exist. Here we will include those whose pictures and info we already have. As and when new people or information about those we already work with becomes available we will include it on this page.

In no particular order they are....

Raven Moonshadow

Bridget Di Luzio is a mother, wife, witch, ordained High Priestess and a writer.

After spending eleven years working in corporate America, more specifically the banking industry, she decided that it was time to take a break and began her next adventure as a stay at home mom. Bridget is a former editor and writer for Pagan Moonbeams where she was known by her magickal name, Raven Moonshadow, and has recently begun writing a book based off of the short stories she wrote for the newsletter’s teen section.

She grew up with an incredible love of nature and being outdoors. Her hobbies include camping, photography, cooking, baking, creating magickal aromatherapy blends, and sitting outside in front of a fire on a starlit night.

A solitary witch by nature, Bridget enjoys raising her children up in the Craft with the loving support and help of her husband.

She enjoys the finer things in life like cartwheeling through the wildflowers and climbing trees and believes that everyone should dance barefoot in the rain as often as possible.

Rev. Di Luzio, her family, and her cat familiar, Osiris, live on the East Coast of the United States.

Join Bridget in her shows on Cauldron FM entitled "Raven's Circle" and "The Nest" the next episodes of which will be broadcast very soon, so keep you eyes open.

Rev Kora

Hello, I am a Spiritual Consultant with Clairvoyant, Clairsentience and Clairaudient gifts. I am also a teacher of Reiki & Crystal Healing and Astrology Healing.

I have in-depth knowledge of Tarot, Astrology, Dream Interpretation, and Past Life. I offer long distance healing and one-on-one counseling.

I have been doing this for 25 years and I am here to help and guide you in the right direction.

I am not here to judge you, but to help and understand you; to show you there is a better way to live your life and how not to repeat the same mistakes you have made.

The Merlin

So what can I say to make this interesting? I was born at an early age, grew up in Cheshire, a very pleasant part of the UK and then eventually, by a very circuitous route, ended up in the West Country (South West England)

I have always had a love of the entertainment industry and have worked extensively in both the live performance arena and in behind the scenes production.

I began my broadcasting career with a guest appearance on a local radio station publicising my then new album and pretty soon became involved with the background work, but eventually someone decided that they liked the sound of my voice and I was head hunted to work as the presenter of a late night radio show.

2 years later I picked up another role - as a voice over artist and have several adverts and DVD narrations under my belt.

I have also trained as a Personal Development coach and with regard to my Pagan actvities I tend towards Wicca and I am a solitary pracititioner. I generally follow the path of the hedgewitch, but with my own adaptations.

I hope that you enjoy listening to The Musings of Merlin on Cauldron FM and that you will check out the other shows as they come along

Blessed Be

The First Post

Hi and welcome to this the first post on the new Moonshadow Media blog page. Here we will attempt to keep you up to date with all that is happening within the world of Raven Moonshadow, Rev.Kora and The Merlin who with Sarah, Paul and Emma make up the current Moonshadow Media family.

HISTORY

So how did Moonshadow Media come about? Well here we have to go back to the late 1960s when I was starting to find my feet as a musician and also discovering an interest in photography. The die had been cast.

In the late 70s I had been working as a pro musician and was a "snapper" (taking photos for pleasure more than anything) when I was approached and asked to take some photographs for a business exhibition by one of the exhibitors. As a result of this I was then booked as the official photographer for Warrington Brighter Homes exhibition and got to work with actors Johnny Briggs and Helen Worth (Mike Baldwin and Gail Tyldesley on the ITV show Coronation Street)taking publicity photos for the exhibiting businesses.

That exhibition was to secure me two lucrative contracts, one with a roofing company and one with a glazing company. I was then asked to consider becoming a photo journalist for the CB Gazette (a newspaper for the up coming CB Community) and during that period I was sent as photographer on the RAC Rally, The Warrington By-Election and numerous pro CB Radio demonstrations etc.

I then did a number of other private commissions but wandered back into professional music, and more importantly into radio - working for Halton FM, Tarka Radio and doing a couple of shows and interviews for Lantern FM in N.Devon.

Working with my long term friend Tom Armstrong we staged a series of theatre shows, created a performing arts training school and established a recording studio called the Blue Rooms in Georgeham and it was during this period that we considered the merit of setting up, using the Sky TV service, a tv training facility - cost implications killed that idea but we were convinced that there was a way that the internet could be used but we had no idea how.

In the mid 2000s we discovered something called podcasting and because by this time I had qualified as a Life Coach I thought it would be a great idea to "podcast" some of the techniques I had learned as a coach, and so Coaching Radio was born.

From that first tentative step back into the world of broadcasting, albeit from a different angle and on my own account I soon discovered that there was an interest in the things I was talking about. So I expanded and recorded more and more shows some on coaching topics and others on my other great love music. However I did not want to be too "mainstream" so decided at that early time that the music I would use would be drawn from the wealth of talent that is out there unsigned.

I was soon approached by friends of mine who had heard the Coaching Radio broadcasts and they asked me if I could do a similar sort of thing for the Pagan Community. I responded that would be a fairly simple thing to do and so set about creating the brand Cauldron FM

Having established these two broadcast services I soon realised that I needed more variation and I approached the publishers of a children's pagan magazine with a proposal that I thought would interest them. I suggested that they did an audio version of their magazine, a suggestion that was welcomed and so the Pagan Moonbeams show was added into the Cauldron FM mix.

One of the presenters of this children's show was Raven Moonshadow and when the show came to an end she volunteered to stay on as a Cauldron FM presenter and created her own show for Pagan Youth called Raven's Circle. This show has had some rave reviews and Raven then went on to create a very different type of show for an adult audience entitled The Nest

We quickly recruited another presenter Rev.Kora who presents a show entitled Kora's Cauldron which was going really well and building the audience figures nicely until an illness struck and sadly this has taken her off the air temporarily

Alongside the radio operation we have also established an internet television presence in the form of Ilfracombe TV and North Devon TV as well as building a portfolio of advertising clients for whom we provide radio advertising

The next stage of our development has seen us establishing a working relationship with R+L Digital Videos a copy writing service provided by Sarah Canty (who is also involved with CauldronFM) and offering a voice over service for corporate clients.

Our publishing arm has been extended to include our newest online publication Connect North Devon a bi-monthly magazine dedicated to holistic, green, wellness and ecological matters.

THE FUTURE

We are cuttently undergoing broadcast trials to enable us to launch a 24/7 radio broadcast operation with a mix of pre-recorded and live transmissions. We are developing our TV presence and planning to expand on the Cauldron theme creating programming that will appeal to our Pagan listenership. We are also looking to use the Moonshadow branded 4 x 4 to visit events around the country to promote the brands of CauldronFM and Moonshadow Media thus raising the awareness of our presence as serious players in the Media industry

That brings me to the end of this our first blog, I hope that you have enjoyed it and will join us as a follower. Our next post will include presenter profiles and maybe some more titbits of interest from Moonshadow Media Productions

We wish you all Love, Light and Blessings
